Our Story...
Shawn Hovey came to Foundry Home as an experienced custom home builder, interior designer and licensed real estate agent. She previously co-owned and operated a home building company in the Omaha Metro area for over 20 years. Michele Hybner came to Foundry Home as an experienced professional interior designer. In 2015, Shawn Hovey and Michele Hybner combined their education, experience, passion and purpose to form Foundry Home Interior Design, Inc and Foundry Home Realty Group, LLC. Doing what they do best, Michele and Shawn, have designed and sold award winning homes for hundreds of clients in the Omaha Metro Area. Shawn and Michele have worked with dozens of local and national custom home builders and remodelers over the years designing and selling homes. Their interior design team has designed homes in Omaha and across the country (in Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Texas, Florida and More). Their business acumen and award winning work in interior design and real estate is inspired and speaks volumes about their consistent pursuit of excellence and professionalism. They are the gold standard.
In 2021, there was a book written by Mollie Elkman entitled, The House that She Built, published by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) as a way to inspire more women to pursue careers in the home building and construction industry. This book encouraged Shawn to lean into her 20 years of experience as a home builder. Subsequently, Shawn and Michele formed Foundry Home Investment Properties, LLC and began purchasing, remodeling and flipping homes in the Omaha area in addition to maintaining their thriving interior design and real estate businesses.
In 2023, Michele and Shawn asked themselves why stop there? “We own three businesses with a shared common focus, HOMES… let’s expand our services so that our team can care for our clients’ residential home needs each step of the way”. Michele and Shawn joined forces with Joe Hybner, a commercial and residential construction contractor, to create, Foundry Home Construction, LLC. We look forward to building our NEW MODEL HOME coming soon in the Privada Subdivision in Elkhorn, NE.

These two female entrepreneurs, own and operate four companies and their Foundry Home team has more than doubled in size. They lead their team with vision, talent, professionalism, empathy, grit and perseverance. Shawn and Michele credit their parents for teaching them vicariously what it means to set goals and work hard to achieve them!

Shawn Hovey is a Licensed Nebraska Real Estate Agent / Owner and Team Leader of the Foundry Home Realty Group / BHHS Ambassador Real Estate and Co-Owner / Principal Designer at Foundry Home Interior Design and an Owner of Foundry Home Construction, LLC. Shawn has a Master of Science in Architecture with a Specialization in Interior Design from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. She also has undergraduate degrees in both Art History and Interior Design. Shawn Hovey is a member of the Omaha Area Board of Realtors, The National Association of Realtors and an Allied Member of ASID. Her passion, talent and expertise has gained her numerous accolades in both real estate & interior design. Shawn helps clients buy, sell, design & build homes in every price range.
Logan Hybner
Team Leader - Finance
Logan Hybner is the Financial Team Leader at Foundry Home Group and Foundry Home Realty Group / BHHS Ambassador Real Estate. Logan has a Nebraska Real Estate License, is a member of the Omaha Area Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors and is currently finishing his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree at University of Nebraska. Logan develops and oversees Foundry Home’s overall strategic and long-range financial planning strategies to meet company business goals and objectives. He keeps our team apprised of changes in market stats, researches real estate investment opportunities and manages our day-to-day office operations. Logan is a driving force behind our sustainable growth and value creation spanning all of our Foundry Home brands.
Kate Hybner
Team Leader - Marketing / Creative
Kate Hybner is the Team Leader of Marketing / Creative and a Project Manager at Foundry Home. Kate researches & sources furnishings, lighting, accessories, fixtures, finishes and materials for our design team. She maintains and updates our resource and fabric libraries at our design studio, assists with customer service and coordinates meetings with clients, vendors and reps. Kate’s edgy creativity and talent for content creation can be seen in our company’s social media and marketing campaigns and in our interior design projects as a member of our interior design installation team. Kate Hybner assists our real estate team with staging model homes and existing homes for our clients. She is an integral member of our Foundry Home team and provides support in every aspect of the design, build, sell process.
Joe Hybner
Team Leader - Construction
Joe Hybner is a Registered General Contractor, Licensed Builder, and a Real Estate Investor in the State of Nebraska. He comes to Foundry Home with both a commercial and residential construction management background. He was formerly a Regional Manager for a commercial contracting firm headquartered in Rogers, Minnesota and has spent the last four years in residential construction management here in the Omaha metropolitan area. Our Interior Designers and Realtors partner with Joe on residential new construction, remodeling, and investment property projects. Joe Hybner is an Owner and Team Leader of Foundry Home Construction and is an asset to our Foundry Home Construction and Leadership Team.
